Our Story
As a group of trustees, we support those who are struggling to live in society and live on less per day, than a cup of coffee costs in the West. We have discovered that years of seeing poverty and the effect of conflict on the poor, moves you so much it’s life changing. And we have learnt that you can only truly feel the pain of others, when you yourself have experienced real pain. This is when your whole purpose and aim in life changes. All you wish is that you could find people who have the heart and vision to do good. Sometimes, the stars align and your prayers are answered. We are three people who have the same goal.
Most of the time we are creating or planning something, that will change the world for the better. Muhammad and Wa’qaar have made many trips abroad on business and for charity work. In these moments we shared our inner thoughts and hopes. Two of us, lost one or both of our parents when we were young, and like all who have lost loved ones, we felt the loss of their presence and guidance. There is an emptiness and something that always touches our hearts when we play with our grandkids, because we knows our parents missed out on the chance to be parents in the case of orphans and grandparents.
When you have lost, you really know feel deep down in your emotions, how vital a family and parents are. As we both suffered the pain of being kids with no parents, we decided we needed to help the most vulnerable in society; orphans, and in particular young girls who have added challenges. All too often, they are sadly seen as easy targets for those with malicious intentions.
We have known Iulia (Julia) for many years and recently discussed our idea with her. She is a mother and has brought up a teenage daughter on her own; a child that has many health worries. Iulia knew well the challenges of bringing up a kid on her own in Romania, where the safety net of health and care we take for granted in the UK was not there. It was a chance discussion about our aims that got her very much interested in the vision that we had. She instantly wanted to lead the project, work full time on it to make it happen, and to dedicate her life to this.
The three of us have had our own challenges in life. It is no coincidence that we three were walking to this destination along our own pathways. We had a common goal to make the world better, and help orphans. Here we are now making it happen with a great team of young volunteers, who have a broad spectrum of expertise and experience. It is because we each have a deep personal story about vulnerability that we are driven to do good and inspire others to achieve greatness. We only want to do what we would do for our own children; to make them feel they are loved, wanted, and that we believe in their dreams.
