MUHAMMAD – Chair
Muhammad Ashraf, based in London, (Chairman of Safi Ideas) is a successful entrepreneur with 30 years of business experience. His journey began in trading in electronic consumer goods, and he soon built a successful business of his own in various locations in Central London as one of the market leaders in IT and electronic retail. Muhammad also established My Nursery LLP, for working professionals in the heart of London’s business and financial district Canary Wharf. After its success, it was acquired by an American company, Bright Horizons.
Following the acquisition of My Nursery, Muhammad currently has a successful property development company that builds on brown and greenfield sites in the UK. Muhammad has a passion for philanthropy; he is now also focusing on this real passion for promoting the welfare of others, particularly those less fortunate. Muhammad has been involved in various charity projects across the globe. He is also the Chairman of an incubation company in London
Julia - International Operations Director
Iulia Cristea is based in Bucharest; she has worked in the commercial and management for over 12 years. She spent many years in the retail sector in female and kids’ apparel, which has given her great insight in dealing with human nature. In management, her roles encompassed finance, sales, marketing, inventory management and working with landlords and mall sites. She has a degree in psychology from Spiru Haret University of Psychology in Bucharest, which has given her an academic and practical insight into human behaviour and how strong and fragile human mind can be. She has learnt how to deal with all aspects of the challenges people face, from conflict resolution, stress, happiness and everything in between.
She collaborated with the Fara foundation from the UK, working with parents with special needs kids, including kids from challenging family backgrounds. She was offering therapy to families on how to cope with kids with various medical and psychological conditions. Iulia’s biggest passion is to help young people who are in situations that need care and support for them to succeed in life and has some positive personal experiences which give her better insight. Currently working in film, she is an accredited photographer, videographer and independent film producer. She is a single mother with a teenage daughter and her hobbies include gardening.
Waqaar
A social impact entrepreneur with over 40 years’ experience in the creative business, marketing, and charity sectors, he has held senior positions at leading global media, financial & consumer brands including PWC, BT, BBC and HSBC. He has sat on the boards of many well-known charities including the RVS, where he was fortunate to meet HM Queen Elizabeth II.
Consulted across the world and was part of the team that created the first Islamic mortgage with the Al Buraq in London, and he has worked with a Qatar group in designing the financial structure of an affordable housing programme for Africa and Asia. Currently working on a radical disruptive model in home loans and home ownership, looking for investors and financial institutional partners.
20 years, raising equity for property, education, consumer products he has seen first-hand the corruption a desire and greed to make vast money can cause. Lack of diversity awareness, and a lack of awareness about the widening gap between rich and poor, means society is being damaged by those without a social conscience. Many rich individuals are benefitting themselves at the expense of others. Now is the time is making money in a ethical way and give back to the less fortunate in society.
Ghana Country Head
Jeanine Hage-Ali is based in Accra and is the CEO of a successful business which has over 40 years of history, a business started by her mother Sarah Galloway and now managed by the siblings. Her company is known for its amazing CSR work in Ghana, working in schools and health centres for women. She is currently the Country Director for Sara Galloway Heath Foundation (SGHF) registered charity. Her drive comes from the passion and empathy she has for women, young girls, and children, she is particularly campaigning for the end to period poverty. Jeanine is constantly moved to support and assist the vulnerable members of society by empowering and inspiring them in order to make a difference in their lives. Much of her business work is oriented towards social impact work. She advises the government on issues effecting young women.
Management Team Volunteers
Sara
A professional screenwriter and playwright. She’s involved with community education work as a member of the Nottingham Playhouse Theatre’s participation team, and as writer-in-residence at The Actors Workshop Nottingham. An upcoming monologue book she co-curated with Tim Bryn Smith will raise funds for actor training scholarships for low to no income students. She is working on writing and copy.
Georgiana Larisa Blinda
Georgiana has a Law degree and with over 10 years of experience in operational problem in the legal sector. She has a track record of results that structured and implemented at the highest legal standards. With long organisational experience combined with a creative and result-oriented thinking, she fits perfectly and is well qualified for the role of Operations Manager for the charity, working closely with Iulia. Her passion for helping people goes hand in hand with her ambition to make this world a better place for all.
Shahid Rasool
Web Manager. Shahid is behind all our digital assets and maintains them as a volunteer. He has his own web development business based in London.
Search Engine Specialist with a background in digital marketing which translates well to SEO, PPC, affiliates, usability and online market research. Specialities: Search engine optimisation (SEO), Pay-per-click (PPC) adwords, Affiliate network management, Web analytics, Usability & Accessibility and Website Audits.
